I had a fabulous time in Fairbanks. It was so good to see everyone again! That's definitely what I miss the most about that place. I don't miss the cold, but I do miss the people.
Anyways... a quick rundown of the weekend's adventures:
Friday evening I flew to Fbks with Jennie (also a UAF alumn who works at KPMG), and naturally the plane was late. But we made it there anyways... not too terribly late. The social went very well and it was great to see all my fellow accounting students, professors, and a few new faces as well.
After the social, 3 of us headed over to the contra dance. Patrick was there, and Jessi, and many others as well. I got a beautiful purple skirt from Jessi as a late Christmas gift. Brad apparently decided he was too tired to go dancing though, so he wasn't there. :(
After contra, Patrick, myself, and a few others headed over to Airport Way Family Restuarant for a late dinner, after which 4 of us went to Marlin to listen to the band and chit chat and such. Patrick got a nice little shock over the drink one of the other girls bought him... which was priceless to watch. :D After hanging out there until well past midnight, I drove Patrick home and we stayed up even later still and chatted about all kinds of fun things.
The next morning we got up far too early, had breakfast and headed out to meet up with Erica, Kyle, Crystal, her husband, and Matt to head out to Chena Hot Springs. That was definitely a lot of fun. I love going out there. Everything smells deliciously of rotten eggs (sulfur) and the hot water is so relaxing, and does wonders for my skin. :)
After soaking for awhile, we headed back to town and went to Hot Tamales for dinner. My hot latino friend was there, as usual, looking as good as ever, also as usual. ;) The food was excellent too... when I wasn't drooling in it. Hehe... thanks go to Patrick for trying to snap me out of my reverie. ;) (Haha, ok, I'm not really that obsessed.)
Next up was the first round of dancing for the night. Matt drove Erica and myself to the Silver Spur where we were the only dancers for awhile, but a few others gradually showed up over the 2.5 hrs we were there. Matt quickly reminded me why I enjoy dancing with him so much. It took all of one dance to do that. He really is an amazing dancer. Too bad he can't move to Anchorage too! Erica had a lot of fun too, I think. She's still learning to dance, but doing a pretty good job of it already!
At about 8:30, the three of us headed over to Alaskaland for the second round of dancing. There were a lot more people there that I hadn't seen since I left last December. The dancing was fabulous, and it was a Hawaiian themed dance, so the decorations were great, and they had fake tattoos of hawaiian-looking things for everyone too! I danced so much that by just over half way through, every step I took was pure pain... but I did my best to ignore it because I didn't want to stop! I figured my feet would recover after a day or two, and it was true... they don't hurt now!
After the dance, Patrick and I headed back to his place and I literally crashed as soon as we got there. I was so tired! The next morning Patrick made an excellent breakfast and then we watched Firefly for awhile. It's actually a pretty good show, especially considering it's sci-fi, which I generally don't like at all. I'm almost tempted to go buy the season myself... but there are a lot of other things I'd rather buy and watch. If I'm ever back at Patrick's place again though, we might have to watch a few more episodes. ;)
Anyways, then I had to leave, so we headed to the airport, where I had the fastest, most stress-free flight I've ever been on. It was lovely!
Well, that's my weekend. Now it's getting to be about bedtime. Not to mention my sweetheart promised to call in 15 minutes, and that was 45 minutes ago... so maybe I'll call him back and then crawl in bed. Gotta get up early tomorrow and put in another 10+ hours of doing taxes. :D I'm silly, but I love it!

I'm glad you had a great weekend!!
Hey you. I started a blogspot, but so far I've just posted artwork and knitting projects. I've noticed that you can't limit who views your blogspot, and I'm not sure that I'm comfortable putting up real photographs of myself up for anyone to see. Even though there is a quite scandalous photo of me dressed as a dominatrix on your website!!! ; ) Anyway, I'm glad you had fun in Fairbanks. I miss that scene.
Haha, yes there is. ;) One of these days that will come down, as it was only a test project, but the real project hasn't happened yet, and won't any time soon I'm afraid, so it'll stay for awhile. Unless of course you would rather I take that picture off. I think it's cute though. :D You're right about being unable to limit who views your blog, which is the only reason I like livejournal better. I don't have a problem with people seeing my pictures, as you can tell, but that is a personal decision. Anyways, I will have to go look at your blog! Welcome to blogger!
