So She Dances

"So She Dances"

Josh Groban

A waltz when she walks in the room
She blows back the hair from her face
She turns to the window to sway in the moonlight
Even her shadow has grace
A waltz for the girl out of reach
She lifts her hands up to the sky
She moves with the music
The song is her lover
The melody's making her cry
So she dances
In and out of the crowd like a glance
This romance is
From afar calling me silently

A waltz for the chance I should take
But how will I know where to start?
She's spinning between constellations and dreams
Her rhythm is my beating heart

So she dances
In and out of the crowd like a glance
This romance is
From afar calling me silently

I can't keep on watching forever
I give up this view just to tell her

When I close my eyes I can see
The spotlights are bright on you and me
We've got the floor
And you're in my arms
How could I ask for more?

So she dances
In and out of the crowd like a glance
This romance is
From afar calling me silently

I can't keep on watching forever
And I'm givin' up this view just to tell her

Happy Birthday to me!

Today is my birthday. I am now 24 years old. Hardly old, but not terribly young either. I think I'm going to like this age. In fact, I think this might be the age I want to stay at for several years. My career is steady but growing, I'm in love, and I have some amazing friends. What more could anyone really ask for in life? So cheers to a new year, and if I ever decide to be one of those people who lie about their age, I think I'll say 24. But then again, every year does seem to be getting better.

And home once again...

This time I think I'm actually home for a month and a half... unless my work schedule gets changed, but I actually doubt it this time. It's so nice to be home and to be able to look forward to being home for awhile. Heck, I finally was able to go grocery shopping and buy real food!!! Mmm. It's also nice to be around so I can go dancing every friday again instead of only when I arrive in town an hour before and don't feel like crap.

Lots of fun things to look forward to. I get to try something entirely new at work, which of course interests me because it has to do with taxes. *grin* Thanksgiving is coming up soon, as is my birthday. I still don't know what I'm going to do for Thanksgiving, but the night before my birthday I'm going to go see The Nutcracker with Melissa, Kelly and Pat. Yay!!! Everyone keeps asking what I want for my birthday though... I hate that question! I don't know what I want... at least I don't know what I want that is under $100. I do want an auto start for my car, but that'll be around $400 - $500 from what I hear. I'm not quite ready to afford that myself. I'd rather save for my trip to Australia, although I'm about ready to change my mind everytime I step outside and have to get in a frozen car. *grimace* Oh well. I'll survive. I'm also trying to survive without studded tires this winter. I hope I don't regret that one. My car does handle pretty well though (it's front wheel drive at least), as long as I'm careful and go slowly around corners.

I don't know if I'm ready for Christmas time yet. The stores seem to think it's Christmas already, even though we haven't even made it to Thanksgiving yet. I should probably decorate my apartment a bit, since John and I will be here for awhile before and after Christmas at least. Oh, the Hawaiian New Year's plans fell through. Oh well. It'll be nice to relax with just John and friends here in Anchorage. I'm sure we can find something fun to do for New Year's Eve. At the very least we can plan a party with friends. It's not like college anymore where everyone disappears that time of year. John and I are going down to Wrangell to visit my family though for Christmas. That will be nice. I have to start buying Christmas presents though. Ugh. I'm as bad at this as I am at figuring out what I want!

Well, it's after 10 p.m. and I have to work in the morning. I'll write more later... sometime.

I'm Home! Oh my!

I'm home for the weekend, and it is soooooo nice to be here. My bed is so much more comfortable than any hotel bed could be. Of course my food supply is nil and it's a bit chilly (I'm too cheap to turn on the heat until I have to), but it's my place with my things and I can do what I want here. :)

I'm off to Barrow again Monday morning for 5 days, then another weekend home and then off to Juneau for 4 days. I get to see my little sister and her fiance! Speaking of such... they are getting married in July! I'm excited. :)

Gone for a month...

I hope no one was planning to visit me within the next month. I'm not going to be here. Instead I'll be mostly in Barrow and a little bit in Fairbanks. All for work, of course. I will be in town for a grand total of about 18 hours in about 2 weeks, but then I'm off again. But, all you Fbks people can be happy... I'll be up there for a long weekend, Thursday night through Sunday, the weekend after next. Let me see... I think that's the 19th through the 22nd of this month. I believe there is dancing that weekend too. *grin*

Anyways, I have a million things to do today, so I'm off.

Traveling?!?

Alright, so I've been lazy, really lazy, and haven't posted in forever. But as today marks a rather marked change in my life for awhile, I should post.

To start with, John was here for 4 weeks, which was wonderful! He just left yesterday morning and I seriously don't know what to do without him. I had a knot in my stomach all day yesterday and would break down and cry upon any mention of him. I'm doing much better today, although I still feel like a very large piece of my heart is absent. But it's only about 2 and a half months before we see each other again for another 4 weeks, so I guess it's not nearly as bad as the last time.

As for CPA exams, I've heard back on two of them so far, both of which I passed. I still haven't heard on the last two, however, which is really starting to get annoying, since I won't be able to check my mail every day for the next several weeks (I'll explain below). I particularly want to know if I passed them all so I can get reimbursed for all those sitting fees!

Tomorrow morning, way too early, I get on a plane to Bethel, AK. I'm going to be working there, as an auditor, for the next 4 days. Then I'm back in town on Friday, working. And Saturday morning I'm off to Barrow, AK for 5 days, again working. Then I get a 4 day weekend, 10 days in Barrow, 4 days off, 10 days in Barrow, 4 days off, then I should be in town again, but that could easily change. So I'll be traveling and living out of a suitcase for the next month and a half. Yay. But I'll be making money and seeing places I haven't seen before. And apparently I don't have a choice... I will end up becoming part of the Polar Bear Club. Brrrrrr!!!

Well, I think that's most of what's going on in my life right now. I'll try to post a few times while I'm out and about, but I don't know if I'll have internet very often so we'll see if I can. As for now, I have to pack!
